Surma has a Barnsley/Yorkshire accent (people outside of the UK; not everyone in England speaks Cockney, not even people from London).
Anja's first language is not English. Here she speaks it well, but with a heavy accent. As an adult she speaks perfectly, but she slipped a bit when she was crying on page 20 of this chapter.
